BIOGRAPHY OF WILFRID MOSER

1914-1930

Born June 10, 1914 in Zurich-Enge. His father is a sinologist and his mother a piano teacher. His paternal grandfather is an early champion of Albin Zollinger and publishes children's literature. As a result of his father's teaching positions at European universities the young Wilfrid becomes familiar with various European cities and their culture. The Zurich artists Otto Meyer-Amden, Otto Baumberger, Albert Pfister, Henri Wabel frequent his parent's Zurich home.

Influenced by his personal and literary experiences, travel impressions as well as exhibition visits he creates children's drawings with an unusual sense of color and poetry (Zoos, cityscapes from 1001 Nights, Skater, etc.). Some of these are published in Schweizer Spiegel in 1930.
